Tradewinds, A South Seas Bar was established July 6, 1979. For the past 27 years it has been located in the Coconut Marketplace Shopping Center on the east side of Kauai in Kapaa. Centrally located in an area called the Royal Coconut Coast, Tradewinds has continued to be one of the island´s most popular bars and night spots. New owner Kathy Sykes purchased Tradewinds in September, 2005. Kathy operates Tradewinds continuing the long standing tradition of offering visitors and locals alike a comfortable environment to enjoy refreshments; karaoke, DJ´s, dancing, dart leagues & open dart tournaments, electronic games, some of the islands best live entertainment, NFL Sunday ticket and other sports broadcasts on our 9 TV´s. Our experienced staff have been with Tradewinds between 5 and 14 years. They are dedicated to ensuring everyone has an enjoyable experience.

27 years of consistent service to our customers has kept people coming back again and again. Members of the local community come in time and again, while island visitors return vacation after vacation. A very common occurrence is customers "talking story" about the first time they visited Tradewinds. We´re known for our holiday parties including complimentary Thanksgiving, Christmas and Saint Patrick's full course meals. However, when you´re in paradise, every day´s a holiday.

We´re open daily from 10 am to 2 am, except during the NFL season when we open Sundays at 7 am from September through mid October.
